DA’s annual Extravaganza successfully promotes the best of what Douglas Anderson students have to offer, highlighting a wide range of styles and moods of music, writing, film, dance, and theatre, as well as a stunning display of visual art. Over 500 students participate in the production each year, which includes pieces from each arts area, as well as several collaborative works.

The Creative Writing Department writes and produces a completely original piece for Extravaganza each year, featuring writing selected from the Junior and Senior class. Creative Writing students in each grade level are invited to audition to perform. Students must be able to commit to a rigorous audition schedule throughout the months of January and February to participate.
